About Us

Our Story

Ratchet & Pawl LLC is a mechanical engineering design service company. We design lab and industrial equipment, test jigs, sockets for electronic chips, thermal equipment, assembly equipment, and perform mechanical, thermal, electro-mechanical, electro-thermal, and multiphysics simulations, including new equation derivation and materials analysis. We develop new processes for robotic and automated equipment assembly lines and different tests, as well as process consulting and improvement, engineering drawings and equipment documentation.

Ratchet & Pawl LLC is located in Gilbert, Arizona and was founded by a husband-and-wife team in 2023. We named the company after a mechanism that is located inside a ratchet wrench. The ratchet is the toothed wheel (gear) that spins the wrench. And the pawl is the piece that wiggles back and forth and makes the ratcheting noise while allowing the wrench to spin only in one direction. In the 19th century this piece was called a “dog”, because it looks like a dog wiggling its tail. Our story is reflected on our logo which shows a gear and a dog with a wiggly tail.
